Kathryn has practiced and taught yoga for over 20 years, and has worked as a volunteer mediator for the last 8 years. Her unique ability to heighten people’s awareness of their physical/emotional/spiritual selves blends well with and has been a huge inspiring force for the development of the the InWord program.

Manuel is our lead guide on the Pacuare river expedition. As well as having guided on the Pacuare for over 25 years, he is also a global sustainable agriculture consultant. Over a quarter century ago, he was able to acquire a deforested pastureland in the middle of a roadless section of jungle on the Pacuare river. Since then, he, his family, and his team have been reforesting the jungle with sustainable agriculture, and building and constantly improving the magnificent Pacuare river Ecolodge. He is also a brilliant dancer and dance instructor!

Andrea and Manuel are our hosts at the Pacuare River Ecolodge.
Andrea is an incredibly talented paddler and raft captain, competitively rafting in tournaments, as well as a gracious host and wonderful dance instructor and dancer!

Eddy is our driver, and one of the first faces you’ll see after you land in San Jose. This is the van we’ll have for our journey. He also owns a beautiful little restaurant in Turialba, which we will have an opportunity to visit. Eddy is a fantastic tour guide and language instructor, so if you’d like to try your Soanish, he’ll patiently respond in an accent as easy to understand as any.

Jean Ca and Sofi are our hosts when we stay in Puerto Viejo. They are expert aquatic tour guides and know all of the best locations from Cahuita to Manzanillo and beyond.
